Manleys owner named among Belfast's best

Manleys are delighted to announce that Lester Manley was recently named in Belfast Media Group’s ‘Belfast Business Top 50’.

Now in its sixth year, the ‘Belfast Business Top 50’ celebrates the achievements of local people that have grown successful businesses. The annual event – sponsored by Invest Northern Ireland – was held at Stormont.

The accolade is a testament to Lester’s passionate and innovative approach to business, which is just one of the reasons that Manleys has earned a reputation as one of Ireland’s leading branding firms.

Lester was delighted with the nomination and revealed a little about how his early years were crucial to making his businesses successful. “My first job was as an 11-year-old”, said Lester. “I started my own printing business while I was still at school.”

“I didn’t have any training or serve any apprenticeships and I think that being self-taught has always been a valuable asset. I wasn’t influenced by anyone’s out-dated habits or rigid methods. I think that helped me to develop a business that was unique. We’ve always been innovative and challenged the traditional, predictable approach.”

Although he was delighted with the award, Lester admitted that he doesn’t measure business success in trophies: “We have always been more interested in our clients’ opinions than awards. We want to see a client’s business grow and thrive as a result of our work.”

“That’s what matters to us. What other people say about you is much more important than what you say about yourself.”
