Together we can achieve anything

Manleys would like to congratulate Fostering Achievement on recently celebrating 5 years of success at a special event held in Stormont attended by foster carers, young people and policy makers. The celebration event showcased the “Together we can achieve anything” multimedia that was produced by Manleys and highlights the stories of the children and young people of Northern Ireland who have benefited from Fostering Achievement.

Since Fostering Achievement launched in 2006, it has impacted upon the lives of several thousands of children and young people in foster care by equipping and supporting foster carers. This has resulted in these children and young people gaining a sense of achievement and reaching their potential. Fostering Achievement provides educational materials, tuition and equipment and also offers training for foster carers and runs a series of programmes to help foster children with early learning.

Kate Lewis, Director of the Fostering Network NI, explained the importance of the scheme, she said:

“Being in care does not have to be a barrier to reaching your potential and Fostering Achievement has made a real difference to fostered children in the past five years. We hope to see it continue to have that impact for many more years to come. The “Together we can achieve anything” multimedia showcases our work and importantly a number of young people in foster care were directly involved with the making and editing of the professional DVD giving them a sense of real achievement.”

“Manleys have been proudly working alongside the Fostering Achievement Scheme since its inception in 2006 and we are delighted to be helping to promote such a worthwhile cause. We look forward to working with Fostering Achievement for the next five years as Fostering Achievement continues to make a genuine difference in the lives of looked after children.”
